Meet Your Salesperson: Scott Lyons

Meet Scott Lyons, one of the friendly faces at Smithco. Scott joined our team on November 1, 2023, and he’s been a valuable asset ever since. With over two decades of experience in the turf care equipment industry, Scott knows his stuff and has a passion for the outdoors that keeps him energized and excited about his work.

Scott’s journey began in 2003, when he discovered his love for working outside and the thrill of helping customers find the perfect equipment. He holds an enterprise certificate from the University of Georgia and a teaching degree from Hastings College in Nebraska. After a brief stint in teaching, Scott realized it wasn't for him and decided to follow his passion for turf care equipment instead.

One notable experience from Scott’s career involved a demonstration in Arizona. The demo, which showcased both Toro and Smithco sprayers, left a lasting impression on the client, leading them to purchase the Smithco equipment on the spot.

Scott firmly believes in the importance of building and maintaining strong relationships with his customers. He emphasizes reliability and a personal touch, always doing what he promises and making sure to stay approachable and easygoing.

Teamwork is another key element of Scott’s success. He knows that effective communication and collaboration with his colleagues are essential to meeting client needs and ensuring the best possible service.

Outside of work, Scott enjoys spending quality time with his family, playing softball, and golfing. He also has a lively household with horses, dogs, and little kids that keep him on his toes.
